I'm Ready For May

I really, really, REALLY thought April meant the coming of Spring. Last year early April brought nice weather and it seemed to hang around some.. This year It seems like we had 3 very precious warm Spring-like days.. And the rest were rainy, cold, and gray.

Today was a typical Iowa gray and depressing day.(shot today)

And then right before sunset the gray went away and the sun decided to make an appearance

It was nice to see the sun, even if it was just for 20 minutes or so.. It brings hope for the coming weeks ahead.

First Camera

Yesterday I was digging through old pictures and found these precious jewels.

 That's me on my 6th birthday.. My first camera was given to me...

University of Iowa Pow Wow

I have always been fascinated with Native American culture.. I was fortunate enough to hear about a pow wow happening in Iowa City yesterday.. My only regret was bringing my 6 year old point and shoot camera in place of the newer one..Sometimes it's nice to travel light but since this event was indoors the pictures paid the price for my laziness :-)

 

While the performances were great.. I think my favorite part was the drumming and singing.
